Popularization of the Patient Right Charter

A Cross Section of participants after the Sensitization

In a bid to promote the rights of people living and affected by HIV as a means of combating HIV-related Stigma and Discrimination in the country, the Network of HIV Positives in Sierra Leone (NETHIPS) with support from Solthis developed the Patient Rights Charter in 2016. This charter is an extract from the National HIV & AIDS Commission Act 2011. This Act among other things shows the rights and responsibilities of people living with HIV (PLHIV) and Health Care Workers. It is against this backdrop that the NETHIPS/Solthis Empower Team is engaging various stakeholders in their operational areas to popularize the Charter.

Additionally, the findings from the 2.0 PLHIV Stigma Index Study Report were popularized alongside the Patient Rights Charter.
